This long awaited 50mm f1.4 from nikon finally features a rounded aperture diaphragm. Unlike my older 50mm 1.4, this new diaphragm shape should have the ability to stop the lens down without ruining the beautiful background bokeh it has when it’s wide open.

so far everyone’s whining about how it’s bigger than the old one, has no ED elements or nano coating, and is $150 more expensive. should be a really nice lens though…
oh and Nick, why no mentions of the Canon 5DmkII? that’s on my christmas list for sure. the video aspect of it looks pretty amazing to me, someone with only a little video experience [sony vx1000, canon GL1 skate video stuff.]
Can you post a comparison of the two lenses? I’m not quite seeing what you’re talking about even though I own the older 50mm
