Photoshop Tutorial – Photo Color Correct

May 14, 2009

Something new today. I thought how I hardly have time to post photos at my blog anymore. Also, people have been asking for photoshop tutorials and I had no idea where to start. I definitely WANT to do Photoshop tuts, but there are so many of them out there about the tools, I wanted to focus on photo workflow. Anyway, the two ideas came together tonight and I decided to just film my workflow AS I process photos to my blog. Hopefully these videos will be helpful in not only learning HOW to use the photoshop tools, but also WHEN and WHERE to use the tools. Let me know what you think.

Nice, I prefer to see workflow and creative choices and learn the tools as needed along the way.

    Nick,

If you haven’t already, you really should check out Lightroom as an alternative to Aperture (and Photoshop, for that matter). Very powerful on its own, and in particular for this tutorial, there are vignetting and auto-mask functions too. Probably one of the best apps I own.

I would like to se some more of your PS workflow. Since I came from AE I never had a good touch for PS( I hate all the different Shortcuts and workflows bcompared to AE). I hope you can teach us some more of tat good stuff ;)

The screen resolution is fine. Actually yours is probably the only “podcast” videos that fit the screen nicely :-)

This is actually the first time I’ve visited your site (also a Shake It Photo user!) but I love the video you put together for today’s picture. I’m definitely looking forward to more!

Thank god someone other than myself hates the whole HDRI fad. Don’t get me wrong, it has its place, but is sooo over used nowadays. I love your work flow seeing how it’s similar to mine, very organic and sponanteous. I’ve got two questions though… why use Aperture over the Bridge to Photoshop work flow? And is there a big difference? I’ve obviously never used Aperture, and am not interested in Lightroom.

Chris: Iv’e been using Aperture less and less lately. I’m moving to bridge more and more. I’d stay in bridge if your not running in to any issues yet.

Great way to do these tutorials. There are thousands of tutorials elsewhere on how to use it that it’s great to see a personalized view on why you do what you do.
