    Thanks for the tut, Nick!
I find it quite hard to light scenes the way I want in C4D, so this and CSTools definitely helps! Now all I need is practise… ;)

    Hi Nick.
    Quite a nice overview.
I’m kinda new to Cinema 4D and I was wondering how do you get the “floor” to be like that? Is it just veery large or how do you get i that smooth?

    Greg

    Folmer,

In the menu buttons at the top of the interface, you have a little button that looks like four arrows coming from the center of the button to the corners of the button, click and hold that.. you’ve got more options in that button.. choose “floor” from that menu.

Also.. you can access this by going to the program menu at the top and choosing Objects > Scene > Floor

Floor is an infinite floor object that will extend as far back as visible.

    Thanks Nick.
Cool move to dock them in the interface permanently – all the CS Tools are so useful, sometimes the biggest barrier is to remember you’ve got them!
    cheers

    Nick,
Do you think it takes longer to render because of something to do with the CS Tools or because of the overall use of geometry and GI?

What are the hours hours at DK? You are just cranking out video tutorials like a bread slicer!!!

    The Gorilla

I’m on a break from DK right now trying to put out more content on the blog. I guess it’s working:)

i love your tuts and tips! im fans yours!.

but that was a fast rendering!
there is a trick to render so fast?
    beside de hardware offcourse.

    The Gorilla

Fast hardware sure helps, but knowing what settings you can turn down without effecting the render is really the key. Always adjust and play with the “Accuracy” and “Samples” settings wherever you see them to speed up render times. Especially when it comes to Area lights, Ambient Occlusion, and GI

Sorry to offend , but Nick REALLY sounds and looks like the teacher from “Beavis and Butthead” called David Van Driessen.

Sorry Nick!!! But it kinda makes me laugh :D :D:D

    The Gorilla

hehe. That’s what you think I look like?

    Andrus Rähni

    not entirely…
however, similarities can be found :P

Might be worth setting HD to off by default for these simpler Vimeo’s Nick. It was taking ages to download until I switched to regular res.

Hello, first of all thanks for your tutorials, I’m new to C4D and 3D in general, just studing Zbrush and C4D that I find way more “intuitive” and “user friendly” than other 3D SW on macs, anyway, my question is kinda silly, I didn’t understand the URL where you downloaded the solid/scene, sorry, my english has some lacks.

    cheers,
    Alessandro
