    Nick –

Nice to see more CS Tools on here. I actually recently used CS Docucam on a shot for a project I”m working on here at TEAM:
    http://dropbox.teamgroup.tv/data/dave/team-sound/team-audio-bow-tie.mov

Easycam has come in very useful as well.

    hey guys!
i really love Docucam, and i have a couple of questions about it [problem solving related]:

1.are the parameters within Docucam keyframe-able? if id wanted to keyframe the wobbly-ness from ‘A lot’>into a subtle movement, is it possible?

2.When i try to export the C4D [DocuCam's] camera info into a scene in AE, Everything just messes up! [layers are scattered around etc. so it ruins everything]. Does this mean that you should always import the DocuCam into the project BEFORE starting to set up all the layers? or is there a fix for that?

thanx a LOT to anyone who reply’s to these issues. and Thanx alot-Nick! Your tutorial bout this tool was really great & useful!
    thank u :]

    • Magix says:

in front of each parameter u can c a little small circle. just control click on any of it u need to key frame.

    • eladbari says:

      hey, Magix :]
well yeah, i tried it, but it didnt work. i thought it was because this tool is made with Xpresso, so you cannot keyframe it [just like expressions in AE]. i guess id need to give it another shot. maybe something else messed it up :\
      Thanks alot!
p.s-do you have any idea about the 2nd problem, maybe? the discussion here kinda faded..

    • The Gorilla says:

It should export properly, eladbari. Ill run a test and see what I find.

    • eladbari says:

thanx for the reply, Nick :]
again, exporting a DocuCam into an already made AE project just messes everything up. i thought it was the Zoom level on the DocuCam, so i turned it to zero, but, all of the 3D layers Still gets messed up…

    • Francisco says:

How are you exporting your camera info to AE?. I just check the compositing project files box to After effects in the render settings dialog and boom!. Then just import the .aec file that C4D creates into AE. Once U have Ur composition imported, THEN start to setup your elements in AE. (always remember to turn into 3d space the assets you want to be affected for the docucam in AE)..once you set up the first one, integrate the other elements will be a piece of cake..

  12. Kevin says:

    Hey Nick,
Good stuff. I would especially like you to show how the action cam works in CS tools. I have tried to move from camera to camera in the step up and I really can’t get it to work. The camera transitions hold for 1-2 secs and that is no good.
If you could show something on that it would be great.
    Kevin

  13. Francisco says:

Hey Nick Nice Info ..THNX !!!!
Check this project where I used DocuCam and C4D+AE integration (learned from your tutorials):

    let me know your feedback

PD. some hair and dynamics tutorials in C4D would be great!

  14. Stef says:

    Hi Nick,

I’m having problems with the CS tools. Whenever i play there is nothing going on in animation. This is not only with the docu cam but also with cubes and some other. Any idea’s ?

Thanks for the tuts , their great !

  15. Abadeu says:

Great work and tutorials Nick! This is my first post, so first thanks for your inspiration and style of teaching, you have helped alot.

Second, workign on my first “5sec” and wanted to know if you know how to pause dynamics so the the cam only moves, then resume dynamics. Similar to the time remapping in AE, or like a 360 degree freeze frame.

    Thanks

  16. Scott says:

Is it just me or is moving docucam around where you want it almost impossible? I find it really annoying to frame a shot with it.

  17. Niels says:

But i have a problem with this tutorial. Somehow the video doensn’t seem to load. :)

Bonjour :) Is there any way I could get the CS_Daylight2 tool? I used to have it, but I lost all data from my computer so, yeah… and now I can’t find it anywhere. Oh I just need it so much. I’d be grateful!
    PS I heart your work!

  22. yann says:

it s funny This cam doc thingy hit in my memory this film by studio arman > http://www.atom.com/funny_videos/creature_comforts
because of the stop motion, there is no shaky “real life” cam thingy but > if someone was to do something like that in cg today > it would be a nice stylised addition to the piece for sure this doc cam script !
    great tutorial again! thanks!
    yann

  23. Radames says:

    Nice tut Nick, as usual.

  24. Johannes says:

    easy to follow as always!

  25. Mike says:

Hint: to simulate a docu cam, you can also simply right-click your cam and attach a “vibration” tag to it. That will shake your cam in the same way.
