What Are Five Second Projects?
We all want to make original work for our demo reel or portfolio. But, sometimes you just need a theme to get you started… Some rules to fight against. Here is your chance. Use the theme “Pinball” (Sorry, I’m obsessed) to make a five second motion piece and enter it into the form below. If your new to five second projects, why not check out the Five Second Projects Archive to see all of the past themes and winners.

Can’t wait to see the results of this 5 second project. I recently made this video about a collector here in DC who owns over 900 machines and opened a museum. I’ll have to email him the finished videos.

Oi, never-mind the blind man who posted that last comment on my behalf. He has been fully reprimanded, and shall not annoy us a second time.

Hi Mark, really like the 5 seconds. Can you please help, I must be losing my mind but how do you create the effect right at the start? The building of the stem its used loads in the Paul Clements spot i just can not work it out.
Here’s crack at it.

Hi!
This is my first project submitted to Five Second Project:
http://vimeo.com/35825558
BTW. this is my first animation rendered in Cinema using only illuminating materials. I’ve faced so many problems with render due to extreme blotches. Firstly the whole scene was in bright and dark spots, than I’ve changed GI to IR + QMC (full animation). It was a bit better, but i had 5 good frames and than one blotchy. Finally I’ve increased Stochastic Samples sample count to 1600 and decreased accuracy to 40% and I was hardly acceptable. I’ve also noticed that when I’ve increased diffuse depth to 3-4 it was a bit better. After all it took 24h to render all this(5sec = 30frames/sec in 1024x768px)…
Is there another way to get rid of blotches without increasing render time by 8 times? Any ideas? Did any of you faced the same problem?
I’ve never done anything like this before… I rarely have time to make any animations that aren’t for work… though I only had 2.5 hours to get this done, Really basic but I’m still kinda happy with it
http://vimeo.com/35828532
Dear Nick. I know you play drums too, so I’m kind of making a fusion of your two obsessions

Hello.

nice imagination
Thank you.
http://vimeo.com/35852482
My first five seconds submission. I took the pinball theme and designed a few logos (in illustrator) that you typically have in a game and made them fly around in after effects and cinema 4d. The idea in others words visualize a pinball game in 5 seconds using type and sound.
Good fun!
Sounds sampled from Time fantasy pinball game.

one love. from the yard
Hi guys,
, otherwise render time was a fuc*** whole week waiting on my i7 macbook pro…, it is just a C4D standard render, so no super-glossy reflections on glass and pinballs etc…,, luky I use GSG HDR studio though…!
Uff! it’s almost 4 in the morning here!
This is my first 5′ piece ever too, I decided to make a homage to one of my favourite pinball machines, Bally’s Theatre of Magic (TOM)…., I went a bit crazy on this, and modeled the full cabinet from scratch…, it’s kinda of a promo of this beautyful table…, wish I had more time, cos’ had to render it without global illumination,
hope u like it!
The Theatre awaits!
