<p>Hey, everyone! My name is Topher Welsh. You might have seen me around the web a few places, but Nick has asked me to throw out a handful of tutorials every once in a while to let you all know about some of the other cool tutorials in the AE, C4D and mograph tutorials from around the web. So without further ado, let&#8217;s jump into it!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>CC Cylinder</strong><br />
<a target="_blank" href="http://www.bythebooth.com/2009/10/08/cc-cylinder/" ><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-4453" src="http://greyscalegorilla.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/GSG-AE-Garus-BoothCCCylinder.jpg" alt="GSG-AE-Garus-BoothCCCylinder" width="600" height="168" /></a><br />
<a target="_blank" href="http://bythebooth.com" >Garus Booth</a> is relatively new to the After Effects tutorial scene, and his website really has an awesome look to it.  He has some AE, some C4D, and even some Photoshop and Illustrator stuff on there.  This tutorial though, deals with using CC Cylinder and providing some workarounds to give it a 3d look as well as integrating other elements in with it, and making it behave the way you need it to.</p>
<p><strong><a target="_blank" href="http://www.bythebooth.com/2009/10/08/cc-cylinder/" >Visit Tutorial</a></strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>A workflow with Soundkeys</strong><br />
<a target="_blank" href="http://www.motionworks.com.au/2009/10/workflow-with-soundkeys/" ><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-4456" src="http://greyscalegorilla.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/GSG-AE-MotionworksWorkflowSoundkeys.jpg" alt="GSG-AE-MotionworksWorkflowSoundkeys" width="600" height="168" /></a>John Dickinson is one of the more favored veteran AE artists out there on the web. Everyone at one time or another has benefited from his multitude of tutorials on <a target="_blank" href="http://motionworks.com.au" >Motionworks</a>.  This tutorial however takes you through a boxing promo he worked on at Foxtel Australia, and shows you to use Trapcode Soundkeys to control the look and feel, as well as CC Glass and Trapcode Shine to give some awesome, unique effects.</p>
<p><strong><a target="_blank" href="http://www.motionworks.com.au/2009/10/workflow-with-soundkeys/" >Visit Tutorial</a></strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Running Man </strong><br />
<a target="_blank" href="http://www.maxafter.com/runningman.htm" ><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-4454" src="http://greyscalegorilla.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/GSG-AE-Maxafter-Runner.jpg" alt="GSG-AE-Maxafter-Runner" width="600" height="168" /></a>I am always stoked to see something new from Shoaib Khan and his site, <a target="_blank" href="http://maxafter.com" >MaxAfter.com</a>.  He generally deal with only 3ds Max and AE (hence the name MAX + AFTER), but in this tutorial he shows you how to apply Trapcode Form to some footage to create a 3d particle system of a running man.  Pretty rad, to say the least.</p>
<p><strong><a target="_blank" href="http://www.maxafter.com/runningman.htm" >Visit Tutorial</a></strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Cinema to AE</strong><br />
<a target="_blank" href="http://pariahstudios.co.uk/tut_005.html" ><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-4457" src="http://greyscalegorilla.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/GSG-AE-PariahRobAEC4D.jpg" alt="GSG-AE-PariahRobAEC4D" width="600" height="168" /></a>Pariah Rob only has a few After Effects tutorials on his site, but has a buttload of C4D ones.  This tutorial though, shows you how to take C4D scenes and bring them into AE and apply some minor tweakage while in AE.</p>
<p><strong><a target="_blank" href="http://pariahstudios.co.uk/tut_005.html" >Visit Tutorial</a></strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Intro to Expressions</strong><br />
<a target="_blank" href="http://max.adobe.com/online/session/112" ><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-4455" src="http://greyscalegorilla.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/GSG-AE-Michael-ColemanExpressionsNEW.jpg" alt="GSG-AE-Michael-ColemanExpressions" width="600" height="168" /></a>Now I know a lot of people don&#8217;t really dig the expressions side of After Effects, but it is something that you are just going to have to learn eventually!  Why not sit in on this session with Adobe After Effects Product Manager, <a target="_blank" href="http://blogs.adobe.com/keyframes/" >Michael Coleman</a>?  He is probably one of the best people to walk you through this, and with this recording from Adobe MAX he really covers a lot of ground in the hour available.</p>

<p style="text-align: left"><a href="http://visualfxtuts.com"></p>

<p>If you guys like roundups, I have a lot more where these came from&#8230; hit up <a target="_blank" href="http://visualfxtuts.com" >VisualFXtuts.com</a> for daily inspiration, news and things like that going on in the VFX/AE world, and look for my weekly roundups where we check around 300 sites and wrangle up all the tutorials that get posted during the week.  Here is the latest roundup: <a target="_blank" href="http://visualfxtuts.com/2009/11/01/1115/" >2 Weeks = 114 Tutorials!</a></p>
