You may have seen my page of Tiny Animations that feature a bunch of simple animations from Cinema 4D and After Effects. They have been really fun to make, and I got a few questions about how to seamlessly loop animation. So, I made this first video to start to talk about the basics of looping. I hope to do a more advanced one in C4D where I show you more about how to make sure you have a seamless loop for any project.

Vimeo asked me to do a tutorial for their excellent Vimeo School series and I said “heck yes!” It’s all about how to make a fun animated title using Cinema 4D and After Effects. In Lesson 1, we build the logo from a vector file and prepare it for render. In part 2, we composite it in After Effects using the built in Tracking Software, lens blur and color correction. Trapcode Suite 11

It’s everything Trapcode. If you work in After Effects, it’s the first plugin set you should get. The developer is also a pinball fan and a great guy. So, there is that, too.

If you can’t get entire Trapcode Suite, then get this one. It’s my most used Trapcode Plugin. I used it for the snow from yesterday’s tutorial and used in many of my After Effects presets.

Cinema 4D to After Effects Tutorial: Plasma TV

In this tutorial, I will show you how to prepare a cinema 4D scene file for export to After Effects. First, we will model, light and animate a simple flat-screen TV. Then, we will export the scene to After Effects where we will use Trapcode Particular to add snow and use the camera data from C4D to add the screen on the TV and text on the side. You can see the final render below.

How To Use Dynamics, Particle Emitters, and Different Camera Angles in Cinema 4D Part 2

In part 2 of this tutorial we head in to After Effects to composite all the separate camera angles we rendered from Cinema 4D. We use pre-comps to set up the scenes and edit them together in another comp. Then, we do a final color correct and add motion blur to finish up the animation.

Free 3D Ink Preset for Trapcode Particular

I have been working on trying to get realistic looking ink drops in water with Trapcode Particular for a while now. I got pretty close and decided to give away the preset over at Red Giant People. It’s a hog to render, but it gives a pretty cool result. Also, if you change the random seed or the wiggle settings, you will get totally different ink drops every time. This one was pretty fun to make. Hope the preset is useful for you.

How to Make The AT&T End Tag Logo in Cinema 4D and After Effects Part 2

In part 2 we finish animating and composite the scene in After Effects using Lens Care, Curves, and Knoll Light Factory. We also do some basic parenting to try and fix a wonky camera move. Find out why it didn’t quite work and the reason I couldn’t fix it in time.
