In case anyone else was confused as I was: ReelSmart Motion Blur (RSMB) is a paid plug-in. After a little while of experimenting and researching, I found the AE5 documentation offers a similar, free effect: " To achieve a result similar to the result of ReelSmart Motion Blur, apply the Timewarp effect, set Speed to 100, enable motion blur within the effect, and use the manual shutter control features to adjust the motion blur. " It's certainly not nearly as nice of an effect as you get with the RSMB, but for anyone pressed for money, this is an acceptable alternative. :)

Thanks for the tut, Nick!

Brilliant, there hasn't been a tutorial from Chris yet, that I haven't learned a ton of little tricks... my fav's this week were the displacer deformers to add subtle imperfections, and doing the 'x+1' in the multiple value fields.

I KNOW THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WRONG PLACE but I think I may actually get help with you guys.

I'm using - Cinema 4d 11.5 / After Effects CS5.5 / Mac 10.7.3

I'm trying to export my Cinema 4d scene to After Effects and it's not working for me. I know all about the plugin I have to install and I have already done that. In fact, I can open of the provided .aec files in Example folder in the Exchange Plugins folder. The problem though is that I can't open the ones I'm creating myself.

So After Effects is working properly ( I think ) so I'm guessing it's something wrong with Cinema 4d. When I export a file it comes up with an icon that has a picture of a yellow triangle with an exclamation point.

Also, I've seen where people are trying to directly open the file. I'm not doing that. I'm going through the import process.

Sorry for being rude! I appreciate any help that you offer me. Thanks!

There is a bit of trial and error when you first begin using it. Find the filters you like the most and then turn the other ones off. I use Blue and Basic mostly.
