  1. so, is it a C4D users’ competition only? or this view can be achieved in other 3D apps ?

  2. @Mark

Yes it is available in 11.5. Just go to view, click “camera”, a drop down menu will appear with all the camera angles… including Frog

Nick you better put some more text to explain this, or you will get more about 3534874 comments asking “It’s only for C4D users?”

What I understood is that you can get the concept behind the frog view and do whatever you want with the idea, right?

    • Yep. As always, you can do whatever you want with the theme. I will add some more to the description. Good idea.

  6. I don’t see how people are confused. We’ve all heard the terms “Bug Eye View”, “Worms View” “Birds Eye View” and we all know what perspective and angle of view we would expect to imagine when these terms are used.

So in any App you want, or even shooting with a real camera do something that represents what a Frog View means to you. Is it low to the ground looking up? Is it bulgy fish eye distortion? is it even in colour. Use your imagination folks and stop taking themes so literally or as only being specific to 1 software application.

Regardless of this being a camera view in C4D this theme could have just as easily been called Horse View, or Nerd View.

this theme is actually confusing. there’s a screenshot of the frog view in c4d and it has nothing to do with the real frog view.
And why is this view so little known in c4d? Because there is no use for me. It’s like military view but too distorted to work with.
Sorry Nick, but it’s the first theme which is strange and not really inspiring to me

      • Sorry Bjorn. I know it’s a weird one. It came from a conversation about what the hell that view is for and how to use it. I thought it was time to find out.

Enough of your ugly hipster mug! Seriously are you that in love with your goofy face that you have to plaster it all over every single image?!?!? Just once, please, show us a pic or a movie without your lazy, nonplussed, hipster douchebag face!

Wow, Skip. Way to take time out of your busy male-modeling schedule to make such a mature comment that doesn’t at all scream, “I’m angry, ugly, and jealous”.

Maybe next time you make such an idiotic statement, you can show your own face and website instead of hiding like coward.

  12. Frog view is a more warped version of Isometric view. Isometric format is an 1:1:1 XYZ format, where Frog view is 1:2:1 XYZ…so it’s a bit more lengthened in the Y direction.

Now this would be something I would be very interested in!!! I’ve had a play with it and it’s rather good but I want to get a nice polished look like Futurama, or Family Guy when they use Cars and things.

The frog view in C4D is really bizar, as it looks totally different from what’s commonly known as a “frog’s view camera angle”.

And if it supposed to be just that, then they have some seriously acid-trippin humongous frogs in Maxon’s backyard! ;-)

  15. hell… this is going to be painfull…
the frog view its quite complicaded, its like a perspective view but longer y the Y axis. It does not have any conection to my imaginary of frog view (ground view). Its more like a Flyng Frog with astigmatism.
And if you make a camera with this view is imposible any kind of rotation.

  19. Hummm tricky, I dont dout my the ability to come up with something that looks good using frog view. But to think of a idea that leavers the mechanic of the frog view is something else; I like isometric views but I wanna come up with something that uses the squash.

I don’t have C4D. Are there any informative images about what the frog view in C4D looks like? The link by TheWho doesn’t help that much.

    • Truthfully, I don’t think anybody has ever used it or know what it does. Thats kind of the idea behind this theme.

  23. Submitted via the form, but seen as no ones videos are showing up in the Vimeo channel yet I’ll stick a link here too.

I don’t have Cinema 4D, so I went with the “Feel free to make any animation based on the theme” option instead…
