What Are Five Second Projects?
We all want to make cool shit for our reel right? Sometimes you just need a theme to get you started… Some rules to fight against. Use the theme “Kick The Bucket” to make a five second motion piece and link it in the comments of this blog post. “Shout Box” submissions will not be found and will not be added to the channel. Please be sure to post a link in this post’s comments to ensure me seeing it.

It’s really great to see so much participation. Tell a friend about the five second projects and get them involved too. Don’t forget to push yourself to try something new every week. What about a new piece of software or technique you have wanted to try? Take control of your creative output and Make Cool Shit!

  1. English is not my first language.

Kick The Bucket is an expression used when someone dies, right?

Can someone please explain that expression so I can know what I´m trying to achieve with my animation?

    • Yes, You can submit more than one entry. Try refining one animation to be better and better though. That way, you have a really great piece for your reel.Quality, not quantity.

Still new to vimeo (and this site). Here’s a link to my entry it says it hasn’t started converting yet so I hope the link still works when it’s done.

    Hey guys,

Sorry Nick… I tried to chop it up but the story didn’t really make sense anymore. I don’t expect to be a contender for any prizes as I am waaayyy over 5 seconds. Will try to shorten them up from now on.
Here ya go and Thanks again.

  7. So they asked me to get on the mic, and they asked me, could I kick it?

    Yes, I could.

But 24 hours later, Vimeo still has me in line for a conversion.

    Here’s my processing vid….

Do uploads to YouTube, MetaCafe, Smugmug or any thing else result in disqualification?

    • I was having the same problem. I admittedly upgraded to vimeo Plus, but I also uploaded a .mov instead of a .avi. Did you try that?

  9. Virtually all of the things you articulate happens to be supprisingly precise and that makes me wonder why I had not looked at this in this light before. This particular piece truly did turn the light on for me as far as this specific subject matter goes. Nevertheless there is actually one particular position I am not too cozy with and whilst I make an effort to reconcile that with the central idea of the point, permit me observe just what the rest of your readers have to point out.Well done.
