NAB Interview Series: Episode 2 – Tim Clapham 18 Comments

Play

While at NAB this year, I decided to interview some of my favorite people in the motion design industry and ask them a few questions. In this second part of the series, I talk with Tim Clapham. An outstanding Cinema 4D artist and teacher, Tim’s work was the first time I saw art and design being made with Cinema 4D. Not only that, but he also put up project files and lighting setups for download. He taught me most of what I know of Cinema 4D though his site and training series on FXPHD. I was lucky enough to sit down and talk with him about how he got into 3D and making great motion design.

  1. Nice to hear these stuff Nick. Really interesting to hear this stuff. Tim is really great and I follow his courses @ FXPHD.

To bad I missed loads the last couple of months. Moving and getting a (first time) Job as Motion Designer takes loads of time and specially when you back home, you just want to take a rest.

Hope to catch it all up again upcomming weeks.

  2. Another great interview.

As it turns out – I’m working with Tim’s mate Duncan MacLaren in Sydney at the moment.

    Small world.

Just reporting a typo error: “what I know of Cinema 4D thRough his site and training series”

  5. Loving these Nick!

Are you aware that your one recurring question is basically like Mig’s http://www.humblepied.com/ ? I know the podcast itself is obviously much longer, and hence covers more, but just wondering of that was homage or subconscious.

    Either way, keep it up!

    • I totally accidentally ripped it off. I realize it in the next episode I think. Such a good question, you know.

  6. Spot on with this write-up, I truly believe this site needs a great deal more attention. I’ll probably be returning to read through more, thanks for the info!
