A Look Forward at Greyscalegorilla

March 17, 2013 - By

Greyscalegorilla got hacked yesterday. Somebody got in through an old author account on my blog and wrote some silly things about how I’m done making tutorials and how I shouldn’t be doing this site in the first place. It was a bummer. I deleted it from the site, but it still shows up on some RSS feeds. So, I decided to talk about it here so you can hear this directly from me.

What was written in that post is the opposite of how I feel. Let me be clear. I LOVE Greyscalegorilla and everything this site has turned out to be. I LOVE making tutorials, giving talks, and writing posts to help people learn all this fun stuff. We also LOVE making useful tools and plugins to help make your job easier and more beautiful. Expect much more of all of this.

The best thing that came out of this though, were the comments written below the fake post that said how much Greyscalegorilla helped them and encouraging me to make more tutorials and not to give up. These comments alone were worth the hack. It was wonderful to read such nice and supportive comments from you guys. Thank you so much for your support yesterday and though the years.

MUCH more Greyscalegorilla to come…

Thank you!
Nick

  • Way to stay positive Nick. You’re so talented, and the best part is you share it! Thanks for all you do.

    • Clearly a case of idleness…why on earth would someone hack into a website that’s all about helping aspiring artists….(At absolutely no cost)…Nick you still remain the best…never mind the haters…keep up the good work..

    • From France, Toulouse,
Our little studio : “Bridges Instead of Walls”

Want to say : Your expérience inspire our.

      THANKS YOUUUUUU !!!!

      Ouahide

    • I think most of us realize that someone that puts as much into a site to help others wouldn’t post something like that all of a sudden. Don’t worry mate we have your back!

    • I didn’t see the hacked post but for the record GSG has been instrumental in feeding my passion for C4D. I still suck, but get better all the time and that’s thanks to Nick, Chris Lord knows hacking a blog is a lot easier than learning C4D. When I grow up I want to be the Gorilla.

    • You guys inspired me to take up motion graphics, enough said… Keep up the brilliant work!!

    • Thanks for all you have done and do. A tee shirt design with the new ident will help many of us where it on our sleeve! I certainly would.

  • Hello! I think everyone who’s reading your posts and see your and friends tutorials know what’s all about and what your thinking and feeling. Head up! Thanks to you and all your friends supporting this site!

    greets

    -René

  • Really sorry to hear that GSG was targeted like that, but I’m glad there was a silver lining to it all. Thanks for making such great content available, your hard work is thoroughly appreciated! Cheers! (BTW, you need to come grab a few beers in Brooklyn!)

  • Thanks for all the help YOU gave to the community by making these inspiring tutorials…

  • I am proud to be a part of this site. I have learnt so much in Cinema thanks to you Nick , Chris and everyone else involved. You make the impossible possible. Keep up the excellent work that you do. I cant thank you enough for all that you have taught me so far. I know there is far more coming and looking forward to it all.

  • Wow… Must’ve happend during my sleeping time here in Germany. But i guess i would have joined the chant of pleading not to stop your work 😉

I’m excited to all the stuff ahead of GSG… Keep up that fabulous work Nick, Chris and EVERYBODY at GSG.

    cheers from Germany,
    marscell

  • There’s always some jealous kid around wishing his/her site was as helpfull as yours is. However, hacking one of the best (if not the best) C4D tutorial site is not the best way to go. Just keep smiling, laughing and most importantly of all: keep up the awesome work!!

    Best regards from The Netherlands,

    Maarten.

p.s. I’m checking this site every day in the hope of something new, unfortunately, nothing is there… Are there any tutorials planned for this next week?

  • Thanks so much for clarifying.

The post yesterday was such a bad mood, that I have had to think about it twice… and even didn’t figure out how you feel.

But now I know you will go forward with the site and your great tutorials!

I tried to post a comment yesterday, but when it was finished and I tried to post it, the article has already been deleted from you.

Just let me tell you how my comment started:
“You name yourself a gorilla – be a gorilla!
Don’t let others force you to shutdown your great site!…”

GSG – keep up your great work!
    Thank you very much.

    Regards from Lübeck, Germany.

Thanks for all you have done and will continue to do. You are a great inspiration and your team is so remarkably smart and tuned in. I am devoted to your cause and hope all goes well for your future. Thanks for sharing your vacation as well. I hope it did what it needed to do to keep you inspired and on top. I can’t wait for you to come to NYC for a visit. I will come to hear/see you no matter what!

  • Unfortunately people think it’s necessary to hack some one’s site.
    *cough* hang ’em! *cough*

All though I haven’t read the post, it would be a loss if GSG would stop existing, so I am (and many with me I think) happy you let us know we can expect much more!

GSG is great and you deserve a gold medal!

    Greatings,

    Rens

I wouldn’t sweat the hack. You have such a loyal and respected following. (count me among them) Finding quality tutorials and motion graphic tips, that aren’t geared to taking your money, is hard to find these days. Keep up the great work at GSG and you will always have that fan base. See you in Vegas, as I teach at UNLV and am only two blocks from the hall of fame.

  • GSG is the best site to learn Cinema 4D (better so long than the own Maxon site). Something like the C4D Encyclopedia. Also, the use of After Effects, Photoshop, and other relevant software for graphic design and video edition, are so instructive for me, and I’ve learned so many tips and techniques in this site that, in fact, it is the first in my favorite bookmarks. I hope from all of you guys to stand there for many time. Thanx a lot to Nick and the rest of the team.

  • GSG 1, Hacker 0. Way to turn a negative into a positive and keep up the great work

  • GSG is the reason I started using C4D in the first place, when your tutorials showed me that it was nowhere near as scary as it looks when you first open it up.

Anyone who teaches me a new cool thing I didn’t know how to do is always going to have my support and attention.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Thank gawd for that. I have to say Nick, you’ve been such an instrumental part in making C4D an important and enjoyable part of my workflow and I’m so glad you do enjoy doing it because the community would be so much the poorer without you. Keep up the fantastic work that you do and that is so appreciated from this little corner of the UK and here’s raising a glass to many more years to come.

  • nick, you are a good man.
    love GSG.

  • Nic, it’s obvious it wasn’t you, you are far too passionate about what you are doing at gg, keep up the great work, have learnt a lot from you and your colleagues, it’s a fantastic resource and you should be proud!

  • i’m from IRAN and i love u and thx for your perfect tutorial…

  • Keep your head up Nick and keep doing what you’re doing – your tutorials and generosity make a positive difference. Try not to be angry with the hacker, think of it this way, they’re just a regular slug that over very many lifetimes might possibly evolve into a gorilla like yourself 😉 Shine on brother!

  • It’s good to hear that your site is still up. I really like your site, your tutorials and the way you try to explain why you do the things you do.
Greetings from Turkey, keep sharing your wisdom! 🙂

  • Howdy. It did seem a bit odd. Road trips are supposed to be soul searching and all but not that much. Thank you for sharing and not making 3D as terrifying as it should be.

    James

  • Hej Nick,
    thanks for your education.
I really have lots of jobs because of your help. I soon will buy all your tools.

    Keep on!
    Mattes

  • hey Nick,
on the other side, I want to thank that guy who hacked ur site 🙂
WHY? because he forced you to make redesign of your site, and this site has become REALLY AWESOME now, as you mentioned it was really confusing to find ur really good tuts.
Thanks for your hard work Nick!!!

  • Yes! Thank goodness its not true. I love GSG.

  • WOW that is so damn low, the fact that someone put all that time and effort into trying to make the community think of you with their same close-minded self-righteous perspective. Glad you don’t let all those pretentious pricks out there get to you, and that you’ll keep doin what you love and continue helping the community in so many different ways, despite the haters. That whole rant about giving up on tuts cause “This kind of knowledge should be self-acquired through the desire to implement an idea. Your imagination needs to drive your quest for knowledge” is ridiculous – that IS (and has been) your underlying philosophy all along- experiment, play, nourish your passion. Like you’re always saying: its not the how that matters, but the why.

For me, showing how to do specific techniques with tuts is a way to open your mind to different possibilities so you make new connections and delve deeper with your tools – not to mention it helps to know what button does what. As far as the lightkits and textures – they can be great tools for learning if you dig in and explore all the settings/setups; and/or be a great time/mental energy saver if your chief concern is the story or idea, and don’t wanna spend endless hours building every single element from scratch (altho if you do have that kinda time/attention span, even better!) It sucks that the ever-growing population of lazy wannabe motion designers are copying all your tuts verbatim and using your tools without even trying to push them into something unique – and in a lot of ways, it’s tainting the industry – but to blame you is like…uh, I dunno, blaming Ernest Rutherford for Hiroshima cause he figured out how to split the atom (ok, maybe not quite that extreme…i suck with analogies…but you get the point)

Besides all the tuts, you’ve introduced me to so many great non-motion graphicky things and people (seth godin, steven pressfield) over the years that had a huge impact on my life. And after firing my boss last year and taking the plunge into the wonderful world of making a living doing what I love, on my terms- you’ve given me (and everyone else who cares for that matter) so much great advice and hope that it really is possible.

I realize I’m pretty much preachin to the choir, and I never actually post on forums, AND I’m procrastinating on a big freakin deadline in a coupla days with a coupla sleepness nights left of animating circus animals mauling theater mask cartoon characters and other freakshow wonders. But when I saw this I felt compelled to mash my keyboard with anger and gratitude. Sorry for the long rant. Ok back to work…

  • I’m so happy to know it was a bad joke. We all love your tutorials and the way you explain it so Keep it up because we will always be on the other side to support youand your teem. Greetings from Spain

  • You can only grow from this experience.

  • I’ve never doubted your investment in us Nick. And had I actually seen the comments from the buffoon(s), I would certainly have thought it to be a joke I was missing.
    Keep on moving forward ….

Greyscalegorilla is the one of best sites about C4D. Dont disapoint with this. Saudações do Brasil. 😉

  • GG, simply can’t do this without your enthusiasm and guidance – stay strong and if you find out who this miscreant is please let me know. The dogs will be released.

  • To be honest, the moment I saw it I thought it was strange.. Not your style of writing, and not the mindset I’ve come to expect from the GreyscaleGorilla possé…

  • Yyoo playa! Stay killin` it!

  • ur tuts are awesome , ur attitude is awesome, GSG has been the one and only source of my C4D knowledge. thanks a lot for the help , you are the gorilla

  • GSG you made design industry from Hard to Easy. Thanks for the hard work you do that makes it easy for us to do.

Nick you’re doing a great job helping us get better. Thank you, and your team!

  • I’m from Brazil and I walk every day in GreyScaleGorilla, always see a tutorial that I saw, and I see that you are always happy and willing to open the tutorial … Congratulations for all these days dedicated to us …

    Good Luck friend !!!

  • Ditto everything above. I have lurked on this site for ages and have gone from zero to capable amateur with Cinema 4D 100% as a result of your great tips and tutorials Nick and Chris.

Now is a good time to stop lurking and say Thanks from London UK. This is just the best C4D site on the web and you guys deserve huge praise not stupid hacked rubbish. You are a true enthusiasts!!

  • I just want to say, grayscalegorilla has changed my life, specially in the relationship with the 3d world.
I am a grayscalegorilla adept. Keep doing it that way lads!

  • You and AK are my Gurus 🙂 what would i do without you two…..

  • It must be heartwarming to read these comments, and have nothing to add to them, ’cause they are so true. Positive, inspirational, fun is your work. You are and will be rewarded.

  • GSG is the best place to learn C4D from.

Thanks a lot for giving the time and effort, you are best of the best Nick.

  • Don’t let it rock you Nick, this was bound to happen sometime and its great to know that it backfired.

A big thanks to you and your team for all the Tutorials and tools, they have certainly taken me to the next level.

  • I certainly wouldn’t have got to the level I am at without GSG. Learning every day from your website. Keep up the great work. Many thanks for your excellent tutorials.

  • Hey Nick, you and your team, you are something special. I have been following your tutorials for years and am grateful for your help. Do keep it up. The nerd who hacked your site is just a jealous and has nothing on the box itself.

  • Hey Nick,
Sounds like someone was unhappy that you have such a successful site and give so much to the community. If you didn’t know by now, I am a big fan and always
enjoy and look forward to your tutorials and products. Have learned a lot and I am sure I will keep discovering new things from you and your team. Keep up the great work.
    All the best, Dave

  • Hi Nick from Italy!

Just keep it going… you and your staff are doing a wonderful thing!
    Alex

  • Nick,
Keep doing what you do. You have inspired us all to do better work at all levels.
    @mographcandy

  • Nick
You have really given me so much in my 3D education. You are doing a fabulous job. Keep on trucking and pay no attention to the idiots.

    Thanks a lot again

  • Whew! I am glad that it was just a lark and not serious. When I read that post it seemed to me that either you had something quite personal happen and were in a state of flux or that perhaps you were bi-polar and had skipped your meds. I’m very happy indeed that you do not reflect the false post and in fact are determined to soldier on. Your take on 3D, CG, Motion Graphics and video is very refreshing and I look forward to your tutorials, pod-casts and opinions on the vast world of VFX etc.

So happy to hear that you aren’t quitting.

  • So what are the new steps you have undertaken to improve the security a. What was the hole throught which the hackers were able to pull off this stunt ?

  • I just heard what happened. Someone’s really messed up. Thanks again for doing this. No matter what others think, I’ve learned so much from this site. Don’t let some random person discourage you. Long live GSG!

  • nice marketing stunt!

  • Hey,
I don’t normally comment but I feel this would be the most appropriate time just to point out what an inspiration this site has been for me. I really appreciate what you guys do here!

  • I follow your site since its start ! keep on like that !
Long life to the Gorilla !!!!

    S3B

  • Wow, it amazes me that someone would spend the time and energy to do something so vindictive and malevolent. It was probably someone stuck in a low level post job who thinks they know a lot about software but they’re just jealous that you are seeing a little bit of attention.

Just know that what you do is incredibly helpful and inspiring. Don’t be swayed by the negative nellies, Nick!

  • make a new tutorial and people will realise that you are still 4 ever going to make tutorials .

Much LOVE for GSG . You Nick have helped me alot in my job as a graphic & motion designer thank you so so so so much……

    GSG <3

  • I check this site every day. I watch every tutorial (from you and your friends) Keep on going guys and lady!
ps: When are you in The Netherlands??

  • Thank God teacher!
    Have a nice trip!

  • Sorry to hear about HACK, I love coming to your site and learning new things. Don’t stop, you guys do great work…….

  • I’m from Colombia, just moved to Los Angeles to start a career in VFX/Motion Graphics. I want to thank you for all of your tutorials/help/ making 3d easier, or as another user put, not as terrifying.

if you’re ever out here, pints and pinball on me!

  • Hi Nick

Be proud! Think about it…. First the CIA, then NASA and now….. The Gorilla!!!! Dang man! You must be damn important!

    Keep on truckin!!!!

  • Nick,
I always check in to what is going on. I usually don’t have any time free to watch the tutorials but I’ll log in to see what you are up to, to watch what others in the C4D community are doing, to get inspired etc. I can do that while I am rendering or posting for a client and it helps me to be current and relevant.
Keep up the good work and thanks for providing the forum for all to have a voice.
I appreciate you being you bro.
    Scott

  • Cheer up Nick, Chris, etc.
    Don’t give up.
    We are with you.
I love your way of making tutorials, and the best of all is the way that you make them very and really funny.

    Regards from Spain

  • Glad to hear it was a fake!!! You rock!!! Thanks for the tutorials and keep it rolling!!!

  • Nick –

It sounds like I was one of the few who actually saw the hacked comments on the blog, as I check in every time I boot my Mac. I think I was about the second person to comment on it. What I said then is still exactly how I feel now. I would be nowhere in C4D without this site! I have learned SO much from you and Chris’ tutorials! I wish I knew 1/10th of what you know about photography, After Effects, and C4D! Keep up the good work and keep the tutorials and 5 second projects coming!

    Thanks.

  • Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But, be a man about it. If you disagree with Nick providing free teaching for years, and then leveraging a little to get paid for it, then say so with your own name in a forum of peers. If your opinions are perceived as valid, you will find support. If they are not, you will have to defend them.

Don’t hack his site, pretend to be him and then skulk off in anonymity. That’s a real pussy move.

  • The Gorilla was why I even started use C4D…great attitude. Were all the pro’s like you guys in other areas and we were living in a much better world. Share the love not the hate!

  • Just to say….thanks for all the info you guys have been sharing. Glad to hear you’ll be keeping it up. Brilliant attitude and thanks again.

    D.

  • I am sorry to hear that happened Nick. You are an inspiration to not only myself, but to many around the world. Btw, I am very impressed with the new branding and structure of your the website. I hope this message reaches you well…Keep the positive vibes a flow’n buddy!

    -Rob

  • Probably just jealous because you are doing such a great job and loved by so many.

  • Hi Nick you rock….my support with ya….been following the site since its younger years 🙂

  • Nick Cambpell, YOU are the Gorilla. Keep doing your thing. I love your site and I love your work. Just when things were getting pretty stale for me, I tried listening to your podcasts and it got me excited about creating and being creative. Thank you.

    -Simon

  • Gorilla Go On… You are like Tinker bell for me!!! 🙂
    Have a nice day…
    Greetings from Italy,
    -Luca

  • Just read the hacked post. That was so awful, and clearly came from a jealous, small person.

And apparently it’s also someone who can’t really tell the difference between conceptualization and implementation: just because you like one doesn’t mean you have to do the other. I enjoy conceptualization more, some people enjoy bringing a ready idea to life. Different strokes for different folks, and the person who hacked GSG sounds very insecure in what they do if they feel they need to attack someone for that.

Good on you for shining through, Nick! Keep up the good work.

    ~ Felipe

  • You rock dude keep it up.

  • Don’t worry man we have your back!
Keep doing your thing. I love your site and I love your work
    🙂

  • Hi Mr Gorilla sir.
I just wanted to say that you should most definitely shrug this kind of pathetic trolling off. I can only speak for myself of course, but going by the comments here i’m sure i am not alone, as someone who cannot afford to buy the software and then pay for a full on course to learn the programme, i really appreciate the work you put in to your tutorials and products and if it wasn’t for this site i may have never taken the dive into learning C4D…so nice one and thank you.
    Please keep going.
much man love to you G from England.x

  • Thanks for all your training, tutorials and inspiration over the past years!

You’ve helped countless individuals with this site and no doubt will continue to motivate and infuse life into the global design community!

  • Nick, I think the goal for this years is to get at least 5 more haters, so you know Greyscale Gorilla is on the way up. ‘Hating’ just comes with the territory of success. Hey, look on the bright side, now you know how Snoop Lion (aka Snoop Dogg) feels. Yes, you’re a rapper. A VFX gangsta’ (https://vimeo.com/59025016)

  • seems absolutely everyone is gettin hacked these days, glad to see you’re already back up and running! whoever would hack this ridiculously helpful site clearly has nothing productive to do with their time ;P

  • Hi,

Just to tell you that this site is great! I’ve been here daily since i discovered it last month.

    -Ken

  • Very sorry to hear about the site getting hacked yesterday. Your tutorials are amazing and I have learned so much about C4D since following this site.

    Thank you so much!

  • Nick you’re the best!!!!

  • The next 5 Sec competition theme : Hacked ?????

BTW, love your stuff. Keep up the good work!

  • I am extremely disillusioned with where people’s behavior is heading these days. This world is far too mean and evil. Oh, and don’t forget egomaniacal, because I’m sure the person who did the hacking just wanted to look and marvel at what he/she had done…and probably brag to others. So sad.

I too have enjoyed the growth of this site and Nick. I have had a nice career in motion graphics and have been assisted and pushed by your offerings. Thank you.

  • Thanks for all the awesome tutorials. They really helped me from being a Cinema 4D rookie to becoming a bit of a semi pro. Yet the biggest point is that your tutorials (and tools) are making a piece of software so much more fun for me to use. Whenever I think about Cinema 4D, the first thing that pops into my head is Greyscalegorilla.

Anyways, you guys are amazing, keep on shining!

Oh, and I really wanted to ask this for a long time:
Does Greyscalegorilla have any internships available? If so, I would be interested!

  • Rowan Biddiscombe March 20, 2013 at 5:24 am

Just another Gorilla fan to add to the pile, you’ve helped me a tonne mate, thanks!

  • Thanks for making my creative life much easier and fun!

  • From Argentina, Thanks for all you do

  • from Israel, thanks for all you do and don’t stop ignoring those fake posts 🙂

  • from Saudi Arabia … Grayscalegorilla you helped me find what i love and do what i love . Thanks you

  • I saw the hacked post this past weekend and was dumbfounded when I read it. Disappointed to know you got hacked, Nick, but so glad to see your response. Thank you so much for all you’ve done. Your talent and generosity is greatly appreciated.

  • Hi Nick. It’s a shame some people don’t like people when others do good or have vision. It’s worse when they feel they have to put a spanner in the works. But hey, you know what? these things are minor now. You and Chris are doing a fantastic job. You inspire me whenever I look at your site and see what you have achieved. Keep doing what you do and don’t let them get you down. I’m sure I speak for lots over here in the UK when I say Well Done and we are behind you! Really appreciate the tutorials.
    Best wishes, Sid

  • Hey Nick,

GSG has been top-notch since I discovered it and it has helped me gain knowledge quickly that otherwise would have taken much more time. In short – you ROCK!
    Keep up the awesome work!

    Many Thanks – Mike

  • Keep Up the Good Work!!!

  • The author of the article could have make a better argumentation…

Sharing what you learn for free is a very generous work, particularly for the students, and I think it takes years before you can make a significant amount of money.
Also he clearly didn’t listened to your talks or saw the five seconds projects to say that you dissuade people to try to do things by themselve.

    Thanks for what you do.
    You do it right.

  • I wish I could’ve read it.
    I think you’re an idiot.
Most people actually working in the industry do.

    • Wow bad religion. You actually put in the time to wurf to this page, read the blog entry, and write that. You really put in a lot of effort to be an asshole.

  • To the GSG team, thank you very much for every single tutorial, news, tip and the always cool attitude towards teaching and sharing.
    Again, thanks a lot.

  • There will always be a small percentage of people who for some reason would disagree with you, Nick. It’s an insignificant number compared to all the people that follow your work and appreciate your amazing contribution.
Thank you for your hard work and inspiration.

  • Hey Nick,

I love what you all do here on Greyscalegorilla. It has been a tremendous help and inspiration to watch your tutorials and use your products. Please keep up the good work.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

  • Hi Nick,

I have been following you for sometime, and I would like to say that your work has inspired not only me, but also other colleagues of mine at the “UNITED NATIONS,” namely the Department of Public information and UNTV. If it were not for this site, know one would be interested in learning this program in the first place. If someone disagrees with me, that’s fine. But, I know it’s hard finding a quality tutorial on the web, and videocoplit’s site in my opinion is not as practical as yours. Therefore, the only person who would hack a tutorial site is a pathetic/jealous person who does not want the 3D community to grow. This not only hurts greyscalegorilla, but it also hurts Maxon, me, and other artist who turn to this site for inspiration. That being said, a hacker is only interested in not seeing others blossom beyond their basic comprehension of the program. Moreover, the hacker fails to realize that he is also hurting himself by threating a creative community and future generations. Without people like you, the next generation will never have the next Paul Clements’ or a Monkey that can inspire people. Creativity only feeds Creativity. Without this community, I personally think Maxon would lose market share if this forum dies. It’s not like everybody on the planet owns Cinema 4D.

  • cheekylilbasterd March 22, 2013 at 3:35 pm

    Funny
    I haven’t used c4d in like 2years
Picked it up a couple or so days ago and rendered a text animation
    I used GSG LKP.
The client liked it so much, they are discussing employing me
I had to leave a nasty comment on VCP couple of days ago as well.

Any comments like that only serve as fuel, use it wisely NICK. bless you

    • cheekylilbasterd March 22, 2013 at 3:37 pm

  • Nick,

Really sorry to hear about this but please keep up the amazing work both in your tutorials and plug-ins for C4D. Watched a video of yours from a breakfast speech you gave and you’re simply boss and an inspiration my friend. I’ve heard before if you inspire one person in this life you’ve done a lot and I think there are many votes for you out there. I’d give you one hands down.

Just like you were inspired by MK12(yes…this dates me as well)many are inspired by you and the awesomeness you bring. Be well.

  • Nick,
There will always be people who are jealous of success at any given level. I am an over the hill, new product engineer who happened to stumbled across your site and am very grateful that I did. I love to take my products up a level or two when presenting them to the customer. You give me inspiration to do just that and you seem to give inspiration to everyone you speak to. Why else would organizations want you to come and speak at their facilities? The fact that someone would take the time to try and hurt your on going inspirational, instructional, vision, in my mind, only confirms that fact that you are right on tract. I wish the best and continued success.

  • Wow Dude really sorry to hear that… You have been an inspiration and my way into C4d and 3D graphics… Never mind the hackers, just keep up your exemplary good work… cheers…

  • Hi Nick,

You’ve inspired me and so many others to create great stuff so we can better ourselves. It’d be a very sad day if you ever decided to quit! Keep it up and ignore the haters.

    Best wishes and huge respect,

  • Don’t let em’ get ya down, Nick. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy, as you’ve read, we’re grateful and appreciate all the time and effort you put into this site and your videos over the years.

Maybe this is a new beginning, a stronger approach on the horizon…

    Thanks!

  • You’re good, man. Follow your heart. Do your job.

  • Hey Nick sorry to hear you got hacked but also pleased to know it because I now understand you’re doing a great job, and when somebody is doing something great, there will always be haters. You’re the reason why I started using cinema, the reason why I saved money for months to get a decent computer, and the reason why i’m productive at work,I’m telling you that, just so you know, you’re the inspiration. Here where I work everyone knows who the gorilla is.Keep up the good work and trust me you’ve inspired a whole lot of people. Thanks again.

  • Hi Nick haven’t checked in for weeks and sorry to hear about the hack thing. Being a c4d beginner as well as a none-english-speaker, it’s not easy for me to find a nice portal entering this domain. Thanks for your clear, concise and helpful information that do give a big hand. Keep on:)

  • What goes around comes around. Haters are just going give themselves bad ju ju. You do good work and have helped numerous people. Props to you guys at GSG.

  • Keep it up Nick! You’re doing an amazing job and I always come to greyscale for inspiration! Thank you!
