The New Light Kit Pro 3 Plugin Will Make Lighting Fun Again

August 13, 2018 - By

New lights, objects, presets, and built-in support for multiple third-party renderers. This is the all-new Light Kit Pro 3.

We are thrilled to announce Light Kit Pro 3, the biggest upgrade we’ve ever built. Completely re-engineered and reimagined, this is the tool you’ve been waiting for. Have complete control over your lighting, instantly add pre-lit studios, and switch between major renderers.

It would not be an understatement to say that Light Kit Pro helped build this company. With the embrace of the original plugin, we’ve been able to grow and produce more tools and training for you, and you have all helped establish Greyscalegorilla as one of the best communities to learn, create, and share all things 3D and motion design.

That’s why we knew that this had to be our biggest and best plugin to date. So, we rebuilt the entire thing from the ground up.

New Lights, Cycs, and Studios

Light Kit Pro 3 will introduce seven new light types, nine parametric cyc objects, and 120 studio presets. Scan or search the Light Kit Browser for the perfect lighting, or build and save your own studio from scratch.

Light Types:

  • Softbox
  • Umbrella
  • Kino Flo
  • LED Ring
  • Ring
  • Panel
  • Ambient

Introducing Render Switch

One of the most exciting new features, Render Switch will give you true light parity between Physical, Standard, Arnold, Octane, and Redshift.

With just two clicks, you can render your scenes in any of these renders, and maintain all your lighting, geometry, and materials.

The goal was to save you as much time as possible, and it’s a feature I think we really nailed.

  • Anyone having issues with Team Render Client not acknowledging the plugin is there? I have a Server 2019 box set up with Team Render and I’m trying some test renders but since I use Light Kit Pro 3 in just about everything it keeps kicking back an error saying it’s not there, and I installed it on that machine.

Oddly C4d on that machine as well doesn’t see it. Might be a Server 2019 thing, not sure.

I just purchased the Light Kit Pro 3 and I am having a hard time using it along with Vray. Are the not compatible? All my textures from the Rendering suite render out blank and lights barely show up. Please help
