New Greyscalegorilla Store

June 25, 2014 - By

You may not have noticed it, but we quietly launched a brand new Greyscalegorilla Store about two months ago. We have wanted to add some features that our old store system just couldn’t handle. So, we decided to build our own store to give our customers and our support team a better experience. We kept it quiet for a bit just to be sure everything was working the way we wanted. But now we think it’s ready for it’s big launch.

So, what did we change?

Well, we added a few new features that we have always wanted. There is a lot of behind the scenes stuff that we added to help make everyones life quite a bit easier and to make customer support even better for everyone. Here are three things though, that I think will make the biggest difference for our customers.

1. Automatic Updates and Downloads

Get access to your software anywhere at any time with our new Updates Page. Now you can get a new download or update to the software you have purchased through us with less hassle. Just enter the email you used to purchase your software and receive an email with links to everything you have ever purchased from us including free updates.

Not sure you have the latest version of one of your plugins? Use the same page and be sure you are all up to date.

Visit The Updates Page

2. Build Your Own Bundle

Now you can build your own bundle in the GSG Store. Just add more to your cart and the discount will automatically be taken off your total price. Buy two products, get 10% off. Buy three and get 15%, Buy four or more and get 20% off. The more you buy the more you save.

Not sure what to get? You can choose from some of our pre made bundles below.

3. New Product Pages

We updated the product pages to be able to show off more about what our plugins and packs can do for you. We added a better “In Action” section that shows off how our customers use our products in real world projects. The new design also adds a “Featured Video” so you can see how each plugin works just by clicking play.

Check out the New Store Page

That is just a few things we have been working on behind the scenes to make our customer experience a bit better. Let us know what you think and if there is anything we can do to make things even easier for you.

Thanks so much to Dave and the team for making this new store a reality.

I really appreciate those of you who have supported Greyscalegorilla. It means a lot.

Introducing Transform v1.2

June 18, 2014 - By

We just launched a HUGE new update to Transform. This is the biggest update we have ever made to any plugin. We added a bunch of new features in the latest version including the ability to break apart models and text into individual polygons. Then, you can animate each polygon using one of our new presets or using the “Custom Mode” that allows you to make your own animation with no keyframes.

NEW SuperTextâ„¢ Plugin Included

SuperText is a new plugin that is included when you purchase Transform. Use it to make animating type and vector logos even easier. Use SuperText with MoText and Transform to create tons of different polygon, texture and subdividing effects.

Like all of our plugins, it’s all procedural so you can change your text at any time. Chop up and subdivide your text without making anything editable.

  • Easily and Evenly Subdivide Your Text – For polygon or chunking effects with Transform.
  • Fix Cubic Projections – to make all your textures perfectly stick to your type with one click.
  • Bake Geometry While Keeping Your Text Parametric – to fix typefaces for rendering or sharing with clients.

Want to see Transform in action inside of Cinema 4D. Watch the video below to learn about how we use Transform to make animated titles, and detailed polygon transitions.

Introducing The SuperText Super Preview

June 4, 2014 - By

SuperText is a new plugin that we created to help make animating type and vector logos even easier. Use SuperText with MoText and Transform to create tons of different polygon, texture and subdividing effects. In this video, Chris will go over what exactly Supertext does and how it can help make text animation and texturing easier for your next animation.

Like all of our plugins, all of what you are about to see is procedural so you can change your text at any time. Chop up and subdivide your text without making anything editable.

What Exactly Does SuperText do?

  • Easily and Evenly Subdivide Your Text – For polygon or chunking effects with Transform.
  • Fix Cubic Projections – to make all your textures perfectly stick to your type with one click.
  • Bake Geometry While Keeping Your Text Parametric – to fix typefaces for rendering or sharing with clients.

Look for SuperText soon. It will be included in our upcoming release of Transform v1.2.

Time – A Music Video Using Transform

June 11, 2013 - By

Today, Chris Lavelle sent us this music video he made and he mentioned that he used Transform for a few of the scenes. We gave it a look and he certainly did, with great effect in two great shots. He used Transform to make a room build on at three minutes in. Then, again to make an entire house fall down at minute four. We love seeing great work made with the help of our plugins. Thanks to Chris for sending this in and using Transform to great effect.

Transform

May 18, 2012 - By

After months of work, Transform is finally out and ready for you to play with. This plugin is very exciting for us for a few reasons. First, it’s the most powerful plugin GSG has ever made. It really became much more than we ever thought it would. It all started as an idea to easily shatter text, and it turned into a fully functional animation tool for any object, text, model, or cloner system you throw at it. Second reason we are excited? This is one of those plugins that has so much potential, we can’t even imagine some of the uses you might come up with for it. In short, we are excited to get in into the artists hands (that’s you!) and see what you make with it. Anyway, check out the videos below and see if Transform is a good fit for the way you work. I will have more tutorials and training coming soon for the Plugin. I really can’t wait to see what you come up with. Happy Rendering!

Introducing Transform – A Build and Destroy Tool for Cinema 4D

April 17, 2012 - By

Whew! Chris and I have been working months to get our new plugin ready for NAB this week. We were so excited to introduce it yesterday on the show floor at NAB and I wanted to share it with you on the blog, today.

It’s called Transform. It’s a procedural build and destroy tool for Cinema 4D. Shatter, dissolve, destroy, build, morph, collapse, shard, and beam your text and objects procedurally in Cinema 4D without needing to make anything editable. The video above shows just a little bit of what this plugin can do. We are still working hard on adding more features and getting this ready for a big launch very soon.

Watch a Live Demo of Transform at NAB All This Week

Head over to C4DLive.com to watch my presentation live at NAB where I will be demoing Transform and showing off some of what it can do. Check the schedule below and don’t miss it. Trust me. 🙂
