  • Hi there, thanks for all you do for the C4D community. It’s really appreciated. My question is for Chad, maybe Chris, I use C4D at work but I’m now a happy freelancer since this summer. I want to buy a computer to run C4D. I already have a Macbookpro but I want to make the move on PC (sorry Nick).
If you have to change your computer today, what would you buy? AMD Threadripper or Intel i9? What graphic card would you buy? I have to say that I’m rendering mostly on Zync.
I’m not sure if it’s the place to ask but if I don’t ask I’m certainly wont have answers!!
    Thanks again!

    • We get that question all the time, thanks for thinking of us. At this time I am intrigued by the Ryzen chipset but I don’t know anyone using them in production, so I’m hesitant to approve them. The safe bet is an intel i9 and a system that can support as many Nvidia Geforce GPU’s as you can afford. I recommend looking at systems built by AVA Direct or Media Workstations. If you plan on building it yourself I’m really not the expert. But there are plenty of resources online.

      • Thanks a lot Chad.
I was thinking of the Rysen chipset since they are much more affordable then the i9 or even the i7. I think I’ll go with it and put the money on a good graphic card. At this time, it’s crazy all the unboxing videos that we see on the web for the Threadreapper and all!!
Next step will be the Signal and Hdri plugins from Greyscalegorilla!
        Thanks again.

  • i think, mac user with nvidia cards, cant use prorender.. that´s a shame…
