  • I’m curious to know how Marc created those trails behind boats. The water it’s a simple displaced surface or I didn’t get that point?

      The trails behind the boats are just video-textures from ships I filmed some years ago…
      The water itself is just a plane with
      • satellite-based imagery painting for the color-channel
      • fresnel-masked reflection with anisotropic rough reflections
      • two layered noises for the normalizer-shader inside the normals-channel
      • no transparency at all
      All very unphysical but realistic instead. 🙂

    Amazing. I like to watch the videos from here because I always learn something new.
    I already knew the power of the Lumas shader in conjunction with layer channels, like shown on the second video, but I never used it this way. Certainly I will try this someday.

  • I really want that Houdini engine plug in!!! However, I can do the same stuff but the long way round!!
