  • amazing work thanks for all

  • very fascinating presentation Chris! Thank you guys!

  • EJ Hassenfratz: Can you please do a quick explenation on how to do those flat materials in the vr scene?

  • Are they all “By far the best features of C4D?”LOL

  • guys, please tell me , how he made this realtime reflection, in c4d r17?

  • Thanks for this nice tutos.

hey Nick: Voronoï was a russian mathematician (his name in cyrillic is ???????).
the closest sound in english for “oï” for me (sorry I speak english like a french guy 🙂 ) is like in “droid”.
A better way to say that word is to copy/paste the russian word in google translation to ear how to say it in russian.

  • Awesome tutorial Chris! Learned lots of cool techniques

  • Wow Chris :))) nice one man. Thank you..

  • I like the new gorilla mascot, however isn’t he a bit off brand. Why not grey scale coloring?

  • very cool stuff!

  • OMG chris as always , you are my favorite c4d man haha 🙂 and Ej, Nick everyone is so amazing

  • Thnx for sharing!

kinda like pokemon, gotta watch ‘m all

  • AWESOME! Thank you GSG for posting this amazing presentations!

  • amazing! thank you for the sharing of the presentations.
    learn so much.

  • Just watched the Chad Ashley’s color grading presentation, really awesome tips.Thank you!

  • Hi Nick these are nice videos but apparently Cineversity doesn’t want anyone to download these, the rewind isn’t avalaible on vimeo, it would be cool to get a download link to watch offline…

  • Hey Chad, great tutorial on grading. I just happen to notice that you rendered the Z-Depth pass with Arnold’s AOVs and it wasn’t double the size. It’s not necessary anymore to render your depth pass double the size to get proper anti-alising? Thanks

  • Did anyone follow along with Chris’ amazing octopus presentation? https://www.cineversity.com/vidplaytut/siggraph_2016_rewind_-_chris_schmidt_creating_advanced_controllable_dynamic

The wind broke down around 42 minutes in. I got te Xpresso to link all those connector names which I thought would be the hard part but no luck with the wind.

    • Ok, the seventh time was the charm. The setup that used the Xpresso tag was a little different than the previous example with manually created duplicate cubes. I also had to drop the Wind into the Force > Include panel of the Rigid Body tag on the cloned cube.

After all that I really had to adjust the Follow Position, Follow Rotation, Linear Damping and Angular Damping to get the movement to even look like it was attracted to the null with the sphere in it. Even now, the chain is way more spazzy and eratic than what Chris finished with.

  • Hi Chad, perhaps a silly question: why did you pre-compose the Z-depth layer? I mean, what’s wrong with putting this layer directly into your comp?

Many thanks for your Color Grading tutorial, just what I needed!

  • Thanks Trevor for the camera shake technique, now I just need some jello
