Look What SIGGRAPH Brought Us! | Behind the Render Ep. 3
SIGGRAPH 2026 gave Nick plenty to talk about, but it also reminded us why we love playing around in Cinema 4D. In Episode 3 of Behind the Render, Nick and Chad catch up on the latest from SIGGRAPH, dig into new Cargo features, and build a simple MoGraph setup just for the fun of it.

Episode 3 of Behind the Render starts with Nick recapping some of his favorite moments from SIGGRAPH 2026. From Pixar's annual RenderMan teapot and a sneak peek at upcoming stylized work to new Redshift features, Gaussian splats, and real-time demos, there's plenty to geek out about.
The conversation then turns to Cargo, including the new Collections feature that lets you organize your go-to models, materials, HDRIs, and more. Nick and Chad also talk through Cargo's growing plugin support, Smart Send and HDRI Link, and what's coming next (including the ability to migrate favorites and playlists from Studio).
Then it's time to get back into Cinema 4D. Nick and Chad revisit what makes MoGraph so special: you can build surprisingly sophisticated animations from a handful of simple tools, while still having tons of control over the result. They recreate a packaging animation using a Cloner, Effectors, Fields, and Signal, experimenting with subtle randomness, timing, rotation, and a little bounce to bring the motion to life.
And that's really what this episode is about: playing around. After years of working in 3D, it's easy to forget how satisfying it can be to throw a few objects into a Cloner and see where they take you. So fire up Cinema 4D, follow along, and see if Nick and Chad can convince you to fall in love with MoGraph all over again.
