Patterned Concrete: Materials With Something to Say

Patterned Concrete is the first new Greyscalegorilla collection inside Cargo 3.0. And it’s a different take on what concrete materials can be…

Instead of remixing what already exists, we built these from scratch. Real slabs. Poured to spec. Patterns designed first, not added later.

We worked with concrete artisans, dialed in the aggregate, built custom molds, and shaped each surface with intention. Then everything was scanned at high resolution so it behaves the way real concrete does under light.

The result is 20 materials that feel intentional, not random or procedural.

What Makes this Collection Worth Using

Pattern-First Design

These aren’t just flat surfaces with variation. Each material has structure built into it. Some are subtle, some are more expressive, but all of them give you something usable right away.

Physically Grounded Detail

Every surface comes from a real slab, and you can see that in the way light moves across it. That difference becomes especially clear in close-ups.

Built for Real and Abstract Scenes

They work naturally in architectural scenes and product renders, but they also hold up when you push them into more stylized or motion-driven work.

No Setup Required

Everything is tileable, high resolution, and ready to drop into your scene with one click using the Cargo desktop app. There’s nothing to rebuild or troubleshoot before you can start rendering.

Designed For Real Use

Patterned Concrete was built for scenes where the surface actually matters:

  • Architectural surfaces that need more than a flat, uniform look
  • Product renders that need texture without adding noise
  • Motion design where lighting and surface interaction matter
  • Backgrounds that add detail without pulling focus

If you already use our Concrete or Concrete Pavers, these fit in naturally without feeling like more of the same.

Perfect Pairings

Concrete + Concrete

Using the same flat concrete everywhere gets repetitive pretty quickly. Patterned Concrete works well as a focal surface, while Concrete Pavers can handle larger surrounding areas. It keeps things grounded without feeling duplicated.

Add Wear Where It Matters

Perfect surfaces rarely stay perfect. A subtle pass with Surface Imperfections adds just enough variation to make things feel believable, especially in close shots.

Light It Like You Mean It

These materials respond well to good lighting, so you don’t need to overcomplicate it. Indoor Creative Spaces HDRIs are a solid starting point if you want soft, directional light that brings out the pattern and depth.

Drop It Into Something Bigger

This collection really comes together in a full scene. Use it for floors, walls, or feature surfaces inside KitBash3D Kits like London or Apartment Interiors. It adds intention without overpowering everything else.
