Greyscalegorilla Plus

Compatibility

Greyscalegorilla Plus assets are compatible with major 3D applications and render engines.

Using the Greyscalegorilla Studio desktop app with the Plus asset library, you can send any asset with one click into Cinema 4D, Blender, Unreal Engine, and Houdini.

Greyscalegorilla Plus Apps

A Plus subscription gives members access to two separate applications, Studio and HUB.

Greyscalegorilla Studio is a desktop app that puts the entire Plus asset library of materials, textures, HDRI, and 3D models on your machine. Studio is one-click compatible with Cinema 4D, Blender, Unreal Engine, and Houdini. Select asset collections that use file paths can also be used in additional programs like Maya, 3ds Max, Keyshot, and more.

Greyscalegorilla HUB is a Cinema 4D app that allows members to install and use award-winning animation and lighting plugins like Signal, Light Kit Pro, and more.

Standard Surface PBR

All assets in the Greyscalegorilla Plus library follow common industry standards. Textures are PBR, HDRIs come in EXR files, and our models are available as FBX files. This means our assets seamlessly integrate wherever PBR, EXR, and FBX files are supported, ensuring compatibility across the board.

What is PBR?

Physically based rendering (PBR) is a 3D shading technique that mimics how light interacts with objects. It uses maps to describe light reflection off an object’s surface, including roughness, metalness, and base color. The renderer calculates light reflection/refraction based on these maps, resulting in a realistic representation of light-object interaction.

What are EXR files?

OpenEXR (EXR) is a high-dynamic-range (HDR) image file format widely used in the film and animation industry for storing and processing high-quality imagery. It supports accurate representation of HDR information.

What is an FBX file?

FBX is a widely supported 3D model format that facilitates interoperability between various digital content creation applications.

Fully compatible wherever PBR, EXR, and FBX
files are supported.

  • PBR Materials: Delivered as PBR image textures (TIF, EXR, JPG)
  • Textures: Delivered as image textures (TIF, EXR, JPG)
  • HDRIs: Delivered as OpenEXR image files (TIF, EXR, HDR)
  • 3D Models: Delivered as FBX files
